Southern Michigan Timberwolves defensive back Ernie Smith was named to the National Football Events All America Team.  Smith was named to the third team.  Smith, in his second season with the MCFL's T-Wolves, was a star not only on defense, but played some quarterback in the Wildcat formation as well as returning kicks.

Smith is expected to return for the 2010 season.  The Timberwolves finished 9-3 in 2009, losing in the MCFL semi-finals.
