Beard named MCFL Executive of the Year |

Scott Beard, general manager of the Southern Michigan Timberwolves, has been named Executive of the Year in the Mid-Continental Football League after the team enjoyed its best season since 1999. The MCFL released its all-league teams and Southern Michigan cornerback Ernie Smith was named to the first team on defense.
Safety Mark Carter and end Greg Tomecek were chosen for the second team, end Josh Hunt and tackle Lance Hazlett made the third team and linebacker Zack Hamilton and tackle Brian Cooper were on the honorable mention list.
The Timberwolves had two second-team choices on offense, guard Ed Summerville and fullback Mark Carter. Tackle Mario Tucker is on the third team and tight end Tim Thompson is honorable mention.
Troy Rizzuto was named the third-team punter.
