Twolves to open at Summerfield

The Southern Michigan Timberwolves will open their 20th season of semi pro football with their first ever appearance at Summerfield high School in Petersburg, Michigan on May 4th against the Cleveland Rams.

Last season the Timberwolves opened the season with a non league contest against the Detroit Wolverines at Ida High School. The event was considered a success, despite a season opening loss by the Timberwolves.

\"We\'re excited to play at Summerfield,\" said Timberwolves G.M. Scott Beard.  \"They play great football there and have great support from their community. We hope to bring a great game to Petersburg.\"

Summerfield will become the 5th Monroe County school to host a Timberwolves game over the team\'s 20 year history, joining Monroe, Dundee, Ida, and Erie-Mason. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
